YIKES!

Well, it happened again!! I can't believe it, but it did. A month or so ago, Gina finally gave me my own room in our backyard. It's really nice too, and I didn't have to share or anything and I was real happy but then it HAPPENED. Gina went to the feed store one week-end to buy feed and what did she come home with? This really stupid looking rooster!! He's only a little guy, a banty, but he has these really dorky lookin feathers on his feet. Looks like he has colored showshoes on. I wasn't happy about sharin my backyard pasture with him, but I figured it was OK 'cause theres plenty of room for both of us. We got along fine, until the first night when he started this awful yellin at 4 AM!!.Scared the wits out of me! I had heard that yellin before, but it was at the farm across the street. This was comin' from the deck and sounded like someone was gettin' killed. Well, I finally snuck over to my door and looked out and it was just the stupid CHICKEN. OH MAN............... Well, I figured I could stand that too 'cause I'm up a lot at night anyway, but you'll never guess what happened next. I guess the little guy decided he was scared or somethin' and maybe that was why he was doin all that yellin, but the next night he moved into MY room with me. He flew in there like some crazed flappin thing and I just barely ducked in time to keep from gettin grazed when he landed on my shelf where Gina keeps my hay and grain. OH MAN............... Well he's been sleepin and yellin there every night since then and no amount of talkin is gonna change his mind. I'm just gonna have to share my room again I guess, but it's OK, he really isn't too much trouble. Only thing I don't understand tho is why the weanlings all call me "Chief Zeus" and laugh now when they come to graze in my pasture. What's a little guy like me to do?  Buddys for sure.  |
