Zeus and the baby kitties
As told by Zeus himself
A few months ago, I'm not
sure how long 'cause I can't count yet, I'm too little, my kitty
Kruger did a really funny thing. He was tellin' me about that
his Mommy had new lil' kitties which of course were his brothers
and sisters. He was feelin' kinda sad 'cause he was Bridgetts
baby until now, so I told him maybe he could go see her in her
box in the feed room. He thought that was a good idea, but he
felt kinda bad 'cause he was afraid I might feel bad, like he
was 'bandoning me. Well, he said he had a plan and he left for
a lil while and came back with one of his sisters!!
She was only three days
old, and he was carryin' her in his mouth. That kinda scared
me 'cause I thought maybe he'd hurt her, but it was OK. He put
her down in my stall next to me and went back and climbed into
the cardboard box with his Mommy. Well, everything was OK for
a while and I was sniffing the baby, but then I think she got
real scared 'cause she started to cry. I tried to make her feel
better but I was afraid to pick her up like Kurger did. I pick
him up sometimes, but he's bigger and if I squeeze him too hard,
he lets me know. Anyway, the lil cute thing just started cryin'
louder and louder and I was gettin scared too. I hoped she was
OK but I wasn't sure 'cause I can't understand baby kitties.
I tried to stand real close to her to make her feel better, but
she kept cryin' and cryin' and was gettin scareder and scareder.
Then all of a sudden I
heard my owner Gina comin' into the barn to let us all out. I
was really happy, but I was also scared that she would think
I did something to the kitty. Well, Gina heard the cryin' and
went looking for the baby and finally she looked over
my stall door. I guess my face showed how scared I was 'cause
she patted me and said everything was OK. She asked me how the
kitty got there. I think she thought Bridgett put her there.
I tried to tell her but she didn't understand. She finally figured
it out when she went to put the baby back and found Kruger in
the box instead.
Everything turned out OK
and Gina told me I was real brave to try to help the kitty but
I'm glad it's over. Boy, Kruger really was naughty that time.
Anyway, I love Kruger, but I 'splained to him that I honest and
really and truly don't mind if he leaves me alone to visit his
Mommy.
Cross my Heart!
Bye, from Zeus
(These stories are all
true to the best of my ability to understand Zeus and the other
animals that have lived here with me on the "farm".
